Traveler Luke Miani spent the New Year’s Eve in Iceland, and he posted a video from New Year’s Eve on TikTok that has been very popular.

“I’m in Iceland this New Year’s Eve and I’ve learned that these guys do not mess around when it comes to fireworks. The fireworks started around 11:30 and as you can see they’re still going on, but the clock’s almost 12:30 now. There’s been an hour of this and it’s just completely non-stop,” he said in the video.

Most satisfied with the view from Álftanes

Miani explained that he’s in Álftanes peninsula and that it’s has a great view of the whole area. “You can just see thousands and thousands of people setting up their fireworks. And by the way, these are just normal, every day people, they’re not even townships or local governments or associations or something like that. Everyone can go out and buy these fireworks.”

From the video, Miani seemed the most satisfied with the experience, although his visibility deteriorated as the evening went on. “This is the most crazy place to be on New Year’s Eve. I highly recommend it,” he concluded.
