Gene Simmons wants you to know he is leaving California, moving to Nevada

Gene Simmons really is officially done with California and said he is opting for Nevada instead.

“We are moving out of LA for a number of reasons: one of which are the tour buses,” Simmons, 71, told The Post. “After a certain point, we have had enough of that, even though we appreciate the attention.”

“I’m done. There are earthquakes, fires and pandemics every year,” he continued. “Even though there is nice sunshine, I’m done.”

The rock star put up his longtime Beverly Hills home in October for a whopping $22 million. He later upped the asking price to $25 million.

Simmons now lives in a 12,000-square-foot Lake Tahoe mansion, which sits on four acres.

The Kiss frontman and serial entrepreneur said he chose the location for a “quieter life,” among other factors.

“The quality of life is better there, so we can go hiking without bumping into people,” he added.

He also said the “taxes there are also much more appealing,” explaining that California has become “inhabitable” due to its tax rates.

“We have been exploring our primary residence options outside of California for a couple of years,” Simmons revealed in a separate press release. “We considered various properties in various states but ultimately decided that Nevada is a better choice for us. We are at a place in our lives where a big city lifestyle is just not our thing anymore.”

Simmons told The Post that his wife, Shannon Tweed Simmons, was the sole owner of a hilltop home in Malibu, California, purchased last week. Earlier reports suggest they had purchased the home together.

“She purchased the home with her own money as a personal investment,” Simmons said. “I will not be living in Malibu; neither is Shannon.”

According to Simmons, he and his spouse have always had separate accountants, and file individual tax returns.

“We have never filed joint tax returns,” he said. When asked why, he did not elaborate.

“It’s always been that way.”
