Celtic have received a record fee for Jota as the 24-year-old signs for Al-Ittihad. The Jeddah club are managed by Nuno Espirito Santo and have already signed Ngolo Kante and Karim Benzema but their latest signing is the ex-Benfica starlet.
It is believed that Celtic will receive in excess of £25m for the Portuguese star, who becomes the most expensive export in Scottish football.
We can confirm that Jota has joined Al-Ittihad on a permanent transfer.
Everyone at #CelticFC thanks Jota for his contribution to the Club, and wishes him good luck in his future career 🍀

Given the money that the Saudis are throwing at bringing talent to their league, Celtic have stood by their valuation of Jota and have been rewarded with a record fee.
In 83 appearances, Jota has scored 28 goals and assisted 26 times. The Celtic supporters adored the Portuguese star but the wages on offer were too lucrative to turn down.
Good luck to the player. Many talented players have come to Celtic and moved on and the club have moved for their replacements, the Scottish Champions must do this now by finding a suitable replacement for Jota.
Very sad to see him leave we will miss his flair, individualism and his smile especially after his goals. Good luck to him.
Congratulations Jota. No-one would have turned their noses up at your opportunity, regardless of what they try to say.
You will always be remembered as a true Hunskelper Supreme.
Hail Hail Jota. Thanks for the memories.
Good luck in your future.
THANK YOU ,JOTA, HAIL HAIL
He is off to a patriarchal, homophobic, transphobic regime which thinks nothing about destroying dissenters as illustrated by the brutal murder of Jamal Khashoggi and the shameful dismembering of his body. And then there is the soaring rate of executions including 81 in one day in 2022. I don’t think Celtic supporters, or the club, should be crowing about the blood-money profit generated by such an immoral transfer. Good riddance to him.
Agree, Joe. There is such a thing as self respect.
Are we bracing ourselves for the statement of how he loved Celtic and their fans? It is sometimes difficult to accept such cant and hypocrisy.
A great player, but a wrong decision. Should we accept him back when the time comes, and make no mistake, it will!
