Cadwallon & Vile-Tis Next Up In Confrontation Kickstarter Previews

The team at Sans-Detour revealed some new miniature sets that are coming to Confrontation Classic when it lands on Kickstarter. Now, these are models that I recognise!
The Cadwallon set is superb and certainly shows off a lot of different characters, from all manner of different backgrounds. The fellow at the front in full plate armour and the lady to his left are fantastic models that I'd love to pick up and paint.
We also have these fellows, The Devourers Of Vile-Tis. These classic looking Werewolves are some of the models that prick up the senses, especially the fellow at the front standing atop his upturned axe.
As has been revealed in some discussions on Facebook it appears as if the models are going to be available from the Kickstarter in a resin/plastic material. Which, nowadays seems like the right direction to go with these pieces.
Hopefully, we get to see some of the models THEY are proposing to bring to the tabletop soon.

Yes, Cadwallon is looking good! Not exactely my ideal selection of their models but pretty close.
The Devourers set I’d have done differently. I really like those with bows… 😉
I just hope their plans of scanning the original masters will actually work out and provide good results in the end.
Btw, just read why some Cadwallon characters have little folk keeping their weapons: In the upper city it’s illegal to carry arms for people over a certain height. Thus children and small races are employed for this task to circumvent this law. How cool is that?! 😀

Some good, some bad, some ugly.
See a wide spectrum as well. Though rather from very good to okay to not so good (anymore) to really not my taste.
But do you deem any of the miniatures shown right here in this article as bad or ugly?
Merely an expression. Like you, many of them are not to my taste. They’re just too bizarre, but that may be their appeal for some people.
I see. Was just curious ’cause I heard quite some criticism these days about Confrontation minis not being “good” enough. And I wonder what people actually mean – sculpt, casting, design? Taste is obviously everyone’s very own thing. Production wise I see the majority of the whole range (over ten years) as very good. And the lot shown here, I think, is pretty good – no surprise, almost all of them are from their later times.
Is this from the same company that has cadwallon.com?
Oh, not at all. Sans Detour are French (as was Confrontation’s creator and original publisher Rackham).
cadwallon.com is likely situated somewhere east, and their official licence status seems, say … open to debate.
cadwallon.com is located in Kharkiv, Ukraine, and right now most of their Confrontation minis have all of the sudden become “out of stock”.
