For reasons that remain confusing and SMH-inducing, Zac Efron decided to get dreads. Here's the photo heard around the internet:
To quote Cosmopolitan.com's Shannon Barbour:
"Dreadlocks are, of course, a hairstyle most often worn by black people who are often criticized and publicly shamed for wearing the style. Remember when Giuliana Rancic said Zendaya looked like she 'smells like patchouli oil or weed' because her hair was styled into locs that day? So it comes as no surprise that Efron would be accused of cultural appropriation now."
Flash-forward a few days of backlash, and—disappointingly—Efron hasn't listened to very understandable concerns. In fact, he's still wearing his hair like this:
