Men in Black star Tommy Lee Jones is set to step in for Harrison Ford for upcoming film The Burial.

The Burial, which also stars Jamie Foxx and is based off a New Yorker article of the same name, tells the story of a bankrupt funeral home owner who decides to sue a rival businessman after a handshake deal goes wrong.

In the process, he hires a flamboyant attorney to handle the case.

Novitiate's Maggie Betts is set to direct the film, with Quills' Doug Wright writing the screenplay and Foxx co-producing.

Ford has recently been busy filming the upcoming fifth Indiana Jones movie, with on-set pictures of him back in costume emerging earlier this year.

However, production hit a bit of a snag back in June after the actor suffered an injury, Disney confirming at the time: "In the course of rehearsing for a fight scene, Harrison Ford sustained an injury involving his shoulder.

"Production will continue while the appropriate course of treatment is evaluated, and the filming schedule will be reconfigured as needed in the coming weeks."

The film is set to see Ford appear alongside the likes of Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Antonio Banderas, Fantastic Beasts' Mads Mikkelsen, Marvel's Toby Jones, Logan's Boyd Holbrook and Black Panther's Shaunette Renée Wilson.

Jones, meanwhile, has starred in the likes of Ad Astra, Jason Bourne and The Comeback Trail in recent years, and last appeared as the iconic Agent K in 2012's Men in Black 3.
