Those lucky Brits may have Cheryl Cole and Dannii Minogue's insane designer wardrobes to ogle on X Factor, but in the new year, we'll have a fashion obsessive of our very own to make tuning in each week worth your while.
Season 10 of American Idol premieres in just a few short weeks (January 19 on Fox), and while plenty of people think the show lost its steam along with Simon Cowell, I'll still be tuning in for one good reason--to see what new judge Jennifer Lopez is wearing!

A few weeks ago, she arrived on set for one of the first shows of "Hollywood Week" in a seriously sexy white dress from Versace's fall 2010 collection. If those shoulder cut-outs, diagonal zipper detail, and thigh-high boots are any indication of what's to come from the famously glamour-loving fashionista, then I'm totally psyched to see what else she'll show up in (you can pretty much guarantee there'll be some Gucci in the mix, considering she and her twins are the new faces of the brand's childrenswear line). And after nine seasons of Paula Abdul's 1990s soap opera star wardrobe--complete with tops featuring ruffles, patterns, sequins, and chartreuse silk, sometimes all in the same look!--I'm so ready for a refreshing jolt of style over at American Idol.
