Keach was nominated for a Golden Globe for his role in the TV series, which was also known as Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer and Mike Hammer, in 1984. Beginning his career as a stage actor, Keach was nominated for the 1970 Tony Award for his 1969 Broadway debut in Indians. After making his film debut in 1968 in The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, Keach appeared in a long list of films, including Brewster McCloud (1970), The New Centurions and The Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean (both 1972), Luther (1974), Gray Lady Down (1977), Up In Smoke (1978), The Long Riders (1980, with brother James), Road Games (1981) and Escape from L.A. The multitalented Keach, who has also appeared in a number of documentaries, has also produced and directed and written screenplays and musical scores. Corners and edges worn. Crease on left margin.
