The weather is changing. After weeks of high pressure and largely dry, calm conditions, low pressure systems are returning, bringing wind and wet weather fronts. A queue of these fronts is prowling in the Atlantic ready to strike the UK, although this week remains widely mild.

Thursday night into Friday threatens to be especially windy over the northern half of Britain, with heavy rain moving through as well. By the weekend, though, high pressure will try to build from the south, calming conditions there.
