The better the photo - the better the result! Best photos are of people at close hand - faces clear and bright. But we can work ourmagic on any photo. If you aren't sure if your photo is suited for our carving just send us a message. We would be happy take a look. 98 times out of 100 we can use the photos our customers want carved.
How?
We will take your treasured photo and digitally sculpt it into a 3D model with incredible detail. The digital modeling is the most important part of the process and takes a high level of skill and patience. We will send a proof of the 3D model before the carving begins. Once you are completely satisfied with the sculpture we will start the carving which can take anywhere from 4 to 8 hours. Our sculpting bit will make passes at .05 mm across the entire carving, TWICE. This ensures optimal detail and a smooth carving. Then the piece is finished with shellac and stained to bring out depth.
We can also engrave a custom message on front or back of the piece free of charge. Send us a seperate message with your request.
And don't forget, we have 3 different sizes (14x11; 8x10; 7x5 in.). The larger you decide to go, the more detail can be carved. These sizes are relative. If we have to take an inch from the top we add it to the side to give you the same sq.in. that you paid for ;)
