Daphne Wild, the mother of the 24-year-old Richard Wild at her home in in St Boswells, near Melrose. Wild was named as the British journalist shot and killed in Baghdad. Mr Wild, who had arrived from London just two weeks ago, was killed by a gunman on a street corner. The unknown attacker fired a single bullet into his head at close range as Mr Wild was apparently on his way to research a story on Iraq s vandalised natural history museum, said Michael Burke, an independent British TV producer who identified his body in a hospital mortuary. The killer fled into the crowd and was not caught.
